This crossbar for the Van Dusen aerofoil wing riggers is attached to the back of the footboard and connects to the wing rigger mounting bars by two ball lock pins (sold separately).  When the wings are outside the boat, the crossbar and pins can be adjusted to any of the holes along the side of the mounting bar and will keep the footboard securely in place.
